Admission
Our 20-acre woodland garden is open to the public every day from dawn to dusk. You may meander our garden without charge, thanks to sustaining donations. Find the donation box in the Welcome Kiosk near the parking lot, where you can also borrow a map & learn about upcoming activities.
Directions
Boxerwood is located in Rockbridge County, Virginia, just outside the city limits of Lexington at 963 Ross Road. Here is a map pinned to our location.
Accessibility

Handicap parking and porta-potty in the lower lot near the lodge. Indoor facilities are not always available.

Wheelchair accessible picnic tables are located in both outdoor shelters.

The PlayTrail, the Field where we host summer concerts, the Lodge & back patio, and the nearby Pollinator Garden.

Group Visits
Groups of fewer than 10 people, including children, are welcome to explore the garden at no charge, though donations always welcome. Visits from groups of more than 10 people are fee-based. If there are 10 or more people in your group (including kids), please contact us at least 2 weeks ahead of time to plan your visit.

Boxerwood hosts a variety of programs for adults and children throughout the year. Visit our Calendar to learn about upcoming activities.
Pets
Leashed pets are welcome at Boxerwood. Please keep pets out of the ponds and wetlands. Please clean up and dispose of pet waste. Bringing pets with you to Boxerwood is a privilege which alas, may be revoked for visitors unable to consistently abide by this pet policy.
Photography
Professional photographers must purchase a permit to conduct photoshoots at Boxerwood. The permit costs $150 and is good for one year. Prior to any photoshoot, photographers must contact info@boxerwood.org so we can ensure there's no programmatic conflicts.
Drones
Sorry, we do not permit the flying of drones or other unmanned aerial vehicles within or over garden property. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
Amenities

Please bring a water bottle. There are no water fountains on site, though hose spigots are located near the Lodge.

No indoor facilities. Porta-potties are located in the PlayTrail, the lower parking lot, and seasonally in the field.

Picnic tables are scattered throughout the property. For larger gatherings (up to 30), please rent our pavilion. Advanced reservation required.

We're delighted many plants and animals call Boxerwood home. Please be respectful: keep plants growing, leave frogs be, be part of it all – and leave no trace. Thank you for your stewardship.
