Guidelines for a Boxerwood Visit

Wear appropriate shoes and watch your step. You may be walking on uneven, rough, or slippery terrain.

• Life is fragile; please be gentle.
• We want you to find Boxerwood a tranquil, natural and nurturing experience. Please do all you can to contribute to others having the same experience.
• Maintain constant supervision of children and pets.
• Young children on the Play Trail may be afraid of dogs; let your dogs enjoy the rest of the garden instead.
• Leave No Trace: Leave nature as you find her -- please do not pick anything or take samples home. Take only pictures. Leave only footprints.
• We ask that our visitors show respect for nature, respect for others and respect for themselves.
• Park thoughtfully; don't block others in or out. Handicap parking is next to the Welcome Center.

For the Play Trail: -- This imaginative wonderland is intended for our youngest visitors. Older children can enjoy other parts of the garden. If you do bring older siblings, please be sure that the youngest visitors' activities take precedence. No dogs, please. 

Birthday Parties: We receive many requests from families with young children who want to celebrate their birthdays on the Play Trail. Boxerwood member families may schedule birthday party celebrations on the Play Trail with at least two weeks advance notification. Cake and gift-giving activities should take place under the picnic tent across from the barn so that other families with children on the Play Trail will not feel left out. Non-member families must first join Boxerwood before requesting permission to schedule a birthday celebration on the Play Trail or in the gardens.
