Our Partners

Buena Vista Schools - Lexington Schools - Rockbridge County Schools - Area preschools -- Students participate in our education programs either at their schools, at Boxerwood, or at local streams - Preschool through grade six.

Rockbridge County School Foundation - has provided funds to county schools to defray the cost of Boxerwood visits.

Washington & Lee University - Students teach in our education programs as volunteers or as part of their coursework in the Education and Environmental Education Programs.  Also, through the various organizations, students volunteer in the garden.

Virginia Military Institute - Cadets volunteer in the garden

Rockbridge County 4-H - provided our education program with an instructor.

Powering People - contributed our solar hot water heating stucture

Natural Bridge Soil & Water Conservation District - has provided volunteers in water quaility activities of our education program

Chesapeake Bay Foundation - enables our annual trip to the Bay with area 7th graders.

Dan River Plant Propagation Lab - Japanese maple propagation project

Rockbridge Master Naturalists - Boxerwood is the site for Naturalist meetings, our staff have taken Master Naturalist certification courses, and some of our staff serve on the MN board.

Rockbridge Master Gardeners - volunteer regularly in the garden

Rockbridge SPCA & Rockbridge County Recycling ----- participate annually in our Fall Family Festival
