Kid Links!

The internet is a great place to study nature on a cold rainy day when you can't get outside.  If you want to do some research or just have some fun, check out these cool sites:

eNature.com: a great site for plant & animal pictures and information -- you can search their field guides for just about any living thing you might come across!   More than 5,000 North American species are presented on the site, with full-color photographs and descriptions. The site also features a library of over 500 bird calls, guides to National Parks and Refuges, a Backyard Habitat Planner, and the highly popular Ask an Expert section, hosted by eNature's staff naturalists.
National Geographic Kids: an awesome kid site full of pictures, stories, games, activities and more.  Make sure you check out the interactive Fantastic Forest game!
National Wildlife Federation Kidzone: fun games & activities and great resources for everyone, separated into age groups from preschoolers through teens.  Check out their Backyard Wildlife Habitat program -- Boxerwood is a backyard wildlife habitat -- is your yard -- and other features.
FrogwatchUSA: a long-term frog & toad monitoring program for the entire US, sponsored by the NWF.  Join Frogwatch as a volunteer and learn how to watch & protect the frogs in your area.  It's also a great resource for frog information!
Microbe Zoo:  Information that will help you understand NEWTS, Boxerwood's WasteWater Treatment System.

Know any other good sites?  As much as I enjoy playing on the computer, I'd much rather be outside, so I can't find every cool website out there.  If you know of any I've missed, please email me with the subject: Boxerwood web links, and I'll check them out.  Thanks!
